About these terms

These terms apply when you use flinttax.ie, which is operated by Flint, the operator of flinttax.ie. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

What Flint provides

• General tax guides and a free PAYE refund estimator.
• Account features to organise tax years, save calculations and prepare information for review, when those features are open to you.
• Flint does not file returns with Revenue for you unless we have separately agreed an authorised agent service with you in writing.

Estimates are not tax advice

Estimates and guides are general information based on the details you enter and on published Revenue rules. They are not personal tax, legal or financial advice. Revenue determines your final tax position, and a review can show an underpayment as well as a refund.

Your responsibilities

• Give complete and accurate information, and keep your own records and receipts.
• Keep your email account secure, because sign-in codes are sent there.
• Never share your Revenue myAccount or ROS password with anyone, including Flint.
• Do not misuse the service, try to access other people’s data or interfere with its security.

Fees

The estimator and guides are free. If you choose a paid service, we will show the price, what is included and any cancellation rights before you pay. Any tax refund is paid by Revenue and is separate from Flint’s fees.

Our liability

We take care to keep our guides and calculations accurate, but we cannot guarantee a particular refund or outcome. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses caused by incomplete or inaccurate information you provide, or by decisions made by Revenue. We do not exclude any liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.

Changes and closing your account

We may update these terms or the service. We will tell account holders about important changes before they take effect. You can stop using Flint and ask us to close your account at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country.
